Another Great Saturday!!!

Thanks for another great week of teeball. I appreciate everyone showing up on time and the various contributions all of you make. I hope our pictures turn out well.

This Saturday our game starts at 9:00 so we'll need to be at the fields around 8:45.

FYI...I have been trying hard to rotate players from position to position. I have also changed the batting order for each game. I will continue to do this for the final two games. I want every player to experience playing each position. If you will explain this to your children it will help me A LOT. Many of them request to play certain positions and that system wouldn't work very well.

Also, we'll need to make a restroom stop before our game starts. I hope to avoid another delay in the game like we had this week.

Below are some things we can all work on with our ball players....

1.) Stay focused on the game. (On defense and when running bases.)

2.) Run hard to each base.

3.) Many of the players hold the bat incorrectly. Work on simply holding the bat properly.

4.) Once the ball is headed towards a fellow player allow that player to field the ball. Sometimes players from shortstop position will wind up in right field chasing the ball. This not only causes a potential hazard, it is not good practice for the future.

Thanks again for all of your support. I look forward to our final two games.

Another Great Game

Our Chanticleers continue to impress me. We're now half way through the season and I hope everyone is enjoying it as much as I am.

This week we have pictures. Please try to be there by 11:15. I'm not sure where they will take the pictures, but last year it was over on the football field. Make sure to bring your order form and check.

Thanks to all of the parents who have provided wonderful assistance and snacks for our team.

We'll see you this Saturday,

This Week

I am excited about the progress we made from Week 1 to Week 2. Everybody hit the ball well and we made a few excellent defensive plays. Thanks to Emma Claire for bringing snacks.

This Saturday our game is at 10am, so plan on being there around 9:45. Also, don't forget about pictures on May 9th.

Finally, I highly recommend filling your child's water bottle before each game. The players often get thirsty and will need some refreshment between innings.

Hope you're having a great week!

Game One!

I am so proud of our team. I thought we played very well for our first game. Everyone hit the ball well and we had several great defensive plays.

This week we play the Runnin' Rebels at 11am. Please try to be there no later than 10:45 so we can start on time. Hopefully parking won't be as difficult this week.

I think we have snacks covered for the remainder of the season. Thanks to everyone who volunteered! When we're hitting we need one person at each base to help the players no where to go. Basically they just need to advance to the next base once the ball is hit. The last batter always hits a "home run" so all of the players need to keep moving until they get home. I try to encourage the players to slide into home so that they get some practice with a skill that will be important if they continue playing in the future.

Don't forget that we have pictures on May 9th. You will need your order form and check. We will need to show up 45 minutes early for that game.

See you Saturday!!!

New Information

Hello Chanticleers! We had a GREAT paractice today. Please make sure you keep up with the game schedule located on the sidebar to the right. I hope you find this site helpful. Please send any comments or suggestions to toddscholl@gmail.com.

We are closing in on opening day. Next Saturday, April 18th we will be playing The Terrapins at 12pm. Please try to be there about 15 minutes early so we can distribute the shirts and hats. Our team shirts will be teal with black lettering. I'm not sure which color the hats will be. Make sure you have your white baseball pants.

Parents....please review the bases with your children. Many normal baseball rules will not apply, but the players will definitely need to know where to run after they (or a teammate) hits the ball.

Happy Easter! We'll see you Saturday!
